کوردا شارە-دەوڵەت و شانشینێکی کۆن بووە و دەکەوێتە باکووری میزۆپۆتامیا.[١] کوردا لە سەردەمی سەرەتای شانشینەکانی میزۆپۆتامیا سەری ھەڵدا و لە دەقە ئیدارییەکانی ئەو سەردەمەدا وەک دەوڵەتێکی شار و خاکی جوگرافی لە سەروی میزۆپۆتامیا، کە ھاوتایە لەگەڵ باشووریی باکووری کوردستان و باکووریی باشووری کوردستان (باکووری عێراقی مۆدێرن).[٢][٣][٤] شارە-دەوڵەتی کوردا دووبارە لە لایەن پاشای ئەکەدی نارام سین، لە سەدەی بیست و سێی پێش زایین لە ھەڵمەتە سەربازییەکانی لە خاکی سوبارییەکاندا، ناوزەند کراوە.[٥][٦] لە ئەرشیفە جۆراوجۆرەکانی <i>ماری</i> لە دەوروبەری سەدەی ١٨ی پێش زایین باس لە کوردا کراوە وەک شانشینێکی سەربەخۆ، ھەندێک جاریش وەک ھاوپەیمانی بابلییەکان داندراوە.[٧][٨] ھەروەھا لە لەوحەکانی تەل فەخرییەی پاشاکانی ئاشووری، شالمانەسەری یەکەم (١٢٦٣-١٢٣٤ پ.ز) و توکولتی-نینورتای یەکەم (١٢٣٣-١١٩٨ پ.ز)، کوردا وەک یەکێک لە ناوچە داگیرکراوەکانی ئیمپراتۆریەتیی میتانییە.[٩]

لە لوتکەی خۆیدا، شانشینەکە لە بەشی سەرەوەی خابورەوە لە ناوچەکانی ئەمڕۆ، کە دەکاتە باکووری ڕۆژھەڵاتی سووریا (ڕۆژاوای کوردستان) تا بەرزاییەکانی شاخی شەنگال، باکووری ڕۆژئاوای عێراقی مۆدێرن (باشووری کوردستان) درێژ دەبێتەوە.[١٠][١١][١٢][١٣][١٤][١٥][١٦] شوێنی پایتەخت مشتومڕی لەسەرە؛ یان دەکەوێتە باشووری شاخی شەنگال، یان دەکەوێتە درێژایی ڕووباری خابور.[١١]

کوردا لە سەدەی ١٨ی پێش زایین لەگەڵ شانشینی دراوسێی ئەنداریگ تووشی ناکۆکییەکی سەربازی بوو، کە بە ئاشتی کۆتایی ھات.[٢٢] بەڵام دواتر کوردا لەلایەن ئەنداریگ و بەڕێوەبەرەکەی کە پاشای ئیلام بوو، داگیر کرا.[٢٣] شانشینەکە ھەوڵیدا دڵسۆزی خۆی بگۆڕێت بۆ بابل بەڵام لەلایەن ئیلامییەکانەوە وەستنێرا، و لە ساڵی ١٧٦٤ پێش زایین ئیلامییەکان لە لایەن ھاوپەیمانییەکی بابلییەوە شکستیان پێ ھێندرا،[٢٣] دەرفەتی ئەوەی بە کوردا دا کە ھاوپەیمانی لەگەڵ شانشینی ئاپوم پێکبھێنێت بۆ ئەوەی ڕووبەڕووی ئەنداریگ ببێتەوە.[٢٤] کوردا شاری ئەشیحومی گرتە دەست،[٢٥] پاشان بوو بە ژێردەستەی بابلییەکان.[٢٦][٢٧]
