| Inscription | With this monument the citizens of Słubice would like to pay homage to thousands of anonymous editors all over the world, who have contributed voluntarily to the creation of Wikipedia, the greatest project co-created by people regardless of political, religious or cultural borders. In the year this monument is unveiled Wikipedia is available in more than 280 languages and contains about 30 million articles. The benefactors behind this monument feel certain that with Wikipedia as one of its pillars the knowledge society will be able to contribute to the sustainable development of our civilization, social justice and peace among nations.، Społeczeństwo Słubic pragnie pomnikiem tym oddać hołd tysiącom anonimowych redaktorów na świecie, dzięki których bezinteresownej pracy powstaje „Wikipedia”, największy projekt współtworzony przez ludzi ponad granicami politycznymi, religijnymi i kulturowymi. W roku odsłonięcia pomnika Wikipedia była dostępna w ponad 280 językach oraz zawierała w sumie ok. 30 milionów haseł. Fundatorzy pomnika są przekonani, że społeczeństwo wiedzy, którego jednym z filarów jest Wikipedia, będzie w stanie zagwarantować zrównoważony rozwój cywilizacji, sprawiedliwość społeczną i pokój między narodami.، Die Bürger der Stadt Słubice möchten mit diesem Denkmal ihre Hochachtung für Tausende anonyme Autoren weltweit zum Ausdruck bringen. Über politische, religiöse und kulturelle Grenzen hinweg ließ ihr ehrenamtliches Engagement Wikipedia, das größte durch Menschen gemeinsam geschaffene Projekt, erst möglich werden.Im Jahre der Enthüllung des Denkmals war Wikipedia in über 280 Sprachen zugänglich und beinhaltete insgesamt 30 Millionen Artikel. Die Stifter des Denkmals sind davon überzeugt, dass die Wissensgesellschaft, deren Säule auch Wikipedia ist, im Stande sein wird, eine nachhaltige Entwicklung unserer Zivilisation, soziale Gerechtigkeit und den Völkerfrieden zu garantieren. |
